Summer in Lisbon: Where Our Team Eats, Moves & Resets
When the summer heat hits Lisbon, we lean into the season — balancing movement, nature, and plenty of long lunches in the sun. We asked our team to share their favourite places to move, eat, and unwind in and around the city. Here's what made the list.
Beaches We Escape To
Praia das Avencas – A tiny, hidden beach tucked between rocks in Parede. Peaceful and scenic — a favourite of Mariana C.
Galapinhos Beach – Just outside the city, this day-trip gem feels like the Mediterranean but with Portugal’s signature icy waters. Recommended by Nicole.
Arrábida – A classic for its raw, natural beauty and turquoise seas (Tino).
Comporta (late summer) – Quieter crowds, cooler evenings, and those golden Comporta vibes. A dreamy off-season favourite of Camille.
Princesa Beach Club – When you need a weekday reset, Camille says grab a sunbed, bring your book, and stay all day.
Where We Eat (and Bring Visitors!)
Rui dos Pregos (Docas) – Authentic, simple Portuguese dishes with a view of the river and bridge. Bonus: It’s budget-friendly (Mariana C.).
Come Prima – A must-stop for all of Nicole’s visitors. Cozy, charming, and consistently good.
Despensa No.6 – A casual go-to for lunch or light bites (Nicole).
Floresta da Estefânia – As Sergio puts it: “Nothing fancy — just a full menu for €12.” Soup, main, dessert, coffee — done.
Lupita Pizza – Grab the garlic cheese bread and head to Jardim da Estrela (Mariana L.).
Nature Fixes & Green Escapes
Jardim da Estrela – Picnic, stroll, read, nap. It’s always a summer go-to (Mariana L. & Eloise).
Praça das Flores – Part park, part bar hangout, perfect for post-class hangs with a glass of wine or margarita (Hannah).
Gulbenkian Garden – Shady and lush, a cool haven on hot days (Eloise).
Healthy Horizon – For when you need to cool down and recharge — Camille’s escape from the August heat.
Igreja Santo Contestável Patio & Alvito Park – Family-friendly spots where Thiago brings the kids to bike and play.
Parque Recreacional Alto da Serafina – Still being explored, but already a favourite for outdoor adventures.
Coffee, Cocktails & Chill
La Miré (Docas) – Riverfront chill spot with cocktails and views — lowkey and scenic (Mariana C.).
Marquise Café – A leafy hideout just steps from the studio. Healthy food, indulgent sweets, and garden vibes (Eloise).
